Feature of Gold chip

 

A 17- mm² glass plate in which one side is covered with very thin gold particle, by which the incident and reflection light gives a real time response is called “Gold chip for handy SPR”. This gold surface is covered with a transparent sheet containing suitable flow channel. The transparent sheet has three layers- the middle is elastic type and the other sides are covered with transparent layer.








 

Batch cell(Silicon):

How to Use
1. A small drop of matching oil put onto prism
2. Place a gold chip onto prism and carefully remove bubbles between chip and prism.
3. Put a silicon batch cell on the gold chip
4. Using a drop of water or buffer onto gold surface, a typical SPR curve should be observed when light passes over the prism.
 

 

 

Application of Gold Chip on SPR system:
 

We can observe the changes of angles in two different ways using handy SPR evaluation kit. (1) Batch (drop) cell, and (2) Flow cell.

 

Flow Cell System

How to Use
 

1. A small drop of matching oil is put onto prism
2. PDMS flow cell is put onto gold surface
3. Place the gold surface containing PDMS on the prism
4. Syringe pump is used for continuous flow system.
